Hello,
I’m Caroline.
I’m currently a Senior UX Designer in the App Design System team at the BBC, where our mission is for the system to be native-first, adaptable, familiar, accessible and fast to build, enabling our product teams to create world-class experiences at scale. I have a First Class degree in Industrial Design and am excited by the intersection between the physical and digital world - which is where my love of mobile apps comes in.
I am part of an app design working group, where we look at native components and guidance, latest trends, app news and inspiration, to make sure we’re creating the most up-to-date designs and respect the latest interaction patterns.
I have experience working in multidisciplinary product teams across web, native apps (phone and tablet), TV and in-car experiences. I love designing intricate micro-interactions and delightful motion just as much as solving knotty problems and complex workflows. I love working with data, and have experience running experiments and usability studies both unmonitored and in person.
I’m passionate about fostering good culture and believe that happy, empowered teams make the best and most innovative work. I set up a monthly event for BBC UX&D called Studio Day (although it’s only an afternoon!) where designers, researchers, writers, architects and managers come together, share work, give feedback, practice talks and talk about designs they love.
